As the largest elementary school in Marion County, Sunrise serves approximately 1200 Pre-K to 5th grade students. Our population is among the most diverse in the county and 100% of the population is rated as economically disadvantaged.
Sunrise is a full inclusion school, where four ESE inclusion teachers serve students across grade levels in the general education class using a co-teaching model. Some ESE students are served in a self-contained classroom.
TV Broadcast Studio
Our studio televises live announcements each morning. Student recognition is featured. Students operate the entire show with supervision from the media specialist. The crew consists of anchors, camera, sound and video mixer technicians, announcers, and assistants.
School improvement funds are used to provide remedial programs for non-proficient reading students after school. Tutorial programs, through Title I, are offered for non-proficient students as a way to assist them to meet state standards.
